This page speaks for itself the last update to the app was FOUR YEARS AGO?! Seriously? I no longer recommend Reolink to other people as I have zero confidence in their capability to fix any of the issues. Their customer service and hardware are great, everything else about the experience using Reolink cameras is terrible. Oh, you have your cameras within 15 ft of your router which gets gigabit speeds and still can't get a steady Wifi connection to view live/recorded video? Big surprise. I literally have to remove the SD cards to see the recordings, and guess what, once replaced the cameras have to be set up all over again FROM THE BEGINNING and the cards have to be reformatted (better make sure you save all those videos when you take that card out). Want to view your recorded videos? Good luck getting them from either the iOS app or the desktop client, neither will stay connected to the network long enough for the download. Want to see the live view of the activity for which you just received a notification? Good luck, it will take no less than 3 minutes for the "live" video to load (if it ever does load, becuase sometimes it just will not). However, both the iOS app and the desktop client for macOS are possibly the worst user interfaces I've ever used. I love Reolink for their hardware technology and capability, which is hands above other budget-friendsly systems. Terrible user interface and performance as a "security" camera It works for viewing, recording, and administering Reolink cameras, and it’s free. Combined with the 1) complaint above, that means you are always N-1 feeds on a second monitor. The only way to recover the feed you were watching is to quit & restart the app. There’s a bug when dragging a window with live video between monitors. 4) When viewing in full screen, it blacks out all the other monitors modally, so you can’t multitask while in full screen. 3) I can’t figure out how to get to the battery monitoring screen for battery powered cameras. 2) Non-standard UI elements make the app feel amateurish and like any of the hundreds of low-quality ports of apps from other platforms. 1) The app doesn’t remember window size or position between launches. You can record to local disk which is nice, and you have access to nearly all the same features as in the iOS app.Ĭomplaints are few. Image quality is decent, and features are also good. It autodetected my local LAN PoE cameras, and it was easy enough to add non-local and battery powered cameras by UID. This is pretty much the only choice for monitoring and adminstering Reolink cameras. Note: Reolink Client is compatible with NVRs and IP Cams from Reolink.
